§1 Data Controller

§2 What We Do Not Do

Silence is our principle. We do not listen where we are not asked.

No tracking. This website uses no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, and no other analytics or tracking tools. We do not measure where you come from, how long you stay, or where you go. There is no advertising, no fingerprinting, no social media embeds, and no newsletter lists.

No third-party servers while you read. All fonts, scripts, and libraries (typography, formula rendering, visualizations) live on our own server. While you simply read and watch, your browser contacts no foreign servers.

No automated decisions. No automated decision-making and no profiling take place (Art. 22 GDPR).

You see no cookie banner here – not because we forgot one, but because there is nothing we would need to ask permission for.

§3 Hosting

Our only messenger is the carrier of the page itself.

This website is operated on Fly.io Inc. (San Francisco, USA); the server delivering it stands in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. A data processing agreement is in place with Fly.io (Art. 28 GDPR); EU Standard Contractual Clauses cover possible access from the USA (Art. 46 GDPR).

When the page is requested, the infrastructure necessarily processes your IP address – without it, no answer can find its way to you. These connection data serve delivery and the defense against attacks alone. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure, stable operation).

And because it is rarely said, we say it explicitly: the application itself writes no IP addresses and no user identifiers into its logs. What we do not hold, we cannot lose.

§4 The Collective Field

The site carries a shared, atmospheric resonance field – a breath all visitors move together. Server-side it consists solely of a few aggregate numbers (two field values and their moving averages) in a single file. No IP addresses, no identifiers, no visited paths, no individual visits – every pulse merges instantly and irretrievably into the average.

Contributions from the state navigator enter the field only as a directionless difference, forgotten within roughly one hour, and cannot be attributed to any person. This is not personal data within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 1 GDPR. The field is data minimization, lived (Art. 5(1)(c) GDPR): it knows that breathing happens – never who breathes.

§5 The One Cookie: spindel-lang

It is the only cookie on this website.

§6 What Stays on Your Device

Some threads are not ours – they are yours. They live in your browser and never leave it.

For comfort and atmosphere, the site keeps small settings in your browser's local storage (localStorage/sessionStorage). None of it is transmitted to us or to any third party; all of it can be deleted at any time through your browser settings. Legal frame: §25(2) No. 2 TDDDG (necessary for the functions you use).

Sound & breath (stays until you delete it): spindel-audio-settings, spindel-galerie-audio-settings, spindel-audio-trigger, story-controls-settings (volume, auto-continue, text-follow) as well as spindel-atem-amp and spindel-schwelle-scale (intensity of the breathing animations).

Reading trace (stays until you delete it): spindel-bookmarks (your bookmarks), visitedEbenen (which levels you have entered), spindel-welcome-seen, hauptwerk-welcome-seen, spindel-navigator-modes-seen (so greetings do not return), preferredLang (language echo).

Session-ephemeral (fades when the tab closes): spindel-schwelle, spindel-charge, spindel-charge-avg, spindel-windzug (transition animations between pages), spindel-reset-spur, spindel-nachhall (navigator echoes), strom_seed (the shuffle of your image stream), myzel-shown, tisch-atem-shown, visitedGalleries, hauptwerk-current-sektion, hauptwerk-current-location (where you currently stand).

spindel-cart: a technical vessel for a future shop. As long as there is no shop, it only comes into being if you yourself place something in it – and even then it stays purely local.

§7 When You Write to Us

If you write to Spindel-der-Wirklichkeit@pm.me, we process your details solely to answer your message (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Once the matter is resolved, the correspondence is deleted unless statutory retention duties apply.

§8 Your Rights

You have the right at any time to:

Right to lodge a complaint (Art. 77 GDPR): You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority – in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, or with the supervisory authority competent for us: the Saxon Commissioner for Data Protection and Transparency (Sächsische Datenschutz- und Transparenzbeauftragte), Dresden, Germany (datenschutz.sachsen.de).

An honest note on this: since this site stores almost nothing about you, an access request will usually come back short – that is not evasion, that is the point.

§9 Security

The connection to this website is protected by TLS encryption; unencrypted requests are redirected to the secure connection (Art. 32 GDPR).

We follow the principle of data minimization (Art. 5(1)(c) GDPR): we collect only what each purpose requires and keep nothing longer than necessary.

§10 Changes

Updates to this privacy policy are published on this page; the date above marks the version in force. As the site grows, this policy grows with it – and stays, we hope, as short as truth allows.
